The Revolution Hort

Is a compact orchard post driver, built on a skid steer for vineyard, kiwifruit and tight-access work. It fits under low canopy and between rows where a full-size rig can't, drives and pulls posts and strainers up to 2.7 m, and runs off a skid steer from 45 hp. When the job is in a confined space, the Hort is the machine that reaches it.

It runs Revolution's fully-hydraulic Xtenda mast in a lighter, shorter frame — the same build philosophy as the rest of the range, sized down for the places the bigger machines were never going to fit.

What the Revolution Hort is built for

The Hort is built for confined-space work: under kiwifruit, apple and stonefruit canopy, between vineyard rows, around landscaping and retaining jobs, and on small fencing runs where access is tight.

  • Orchard maintenance — drives and replaces posts under low canopy on a chopped-top skid steer, where a tractor-mounted rig has no room to work.

  • Vineyard rows — replaces broken posts and re-drives them in rows too narrow for the larger machines to enter.

  • Landscaping — retaining walls, garden borders and low fencing on confined sites.

  • Small fencing — lifestyle blocks and short runs where a full-size rig is more machine than the job needs.

If you're searching for a small orchard post driver — or a vineyard post driver for tight rows — this is the machine built for it.

Built to get under canopy and between rows

The Hort gets into positions other post drivers can't. Its fully-hydraulic Xtenda mast extends and compacts, and lays forward to about 1,500 mm above the ground — so you can drive posts under canopy and in low-clearance spots. 600 mm of side shift and 120° of side-to-side tilt, the widest in the Revolution range, let you line up from a fixed skid-steer position even when the ground underneath you isn't level.

The Xtenda mast is a different format to the telescopic mast on the rest of the range — fully hydraulic, and built so the auger or rock spike sits in relation to the ground as you work rather than riding up and down. A post and strainer puller is built in, and a hood shield sits over the mast pulleys. The skid steer plate is standard.

Why Revolution?

Revolution invented the rotational post driver — the first in the world, by roughly two decades. Every machine in the range, the Hort included, carries 30 years of refinement from a contractor who fences for a living.

Revolution is backed by Tony White, a fencing contractor with over 30 years on the fence line through his own company, White Fencing. Every machine is designed with frontline fencing knowledge and tested in a working contracting business before it reaches the market.

That shows up in the build. The oldest Revolutions in the field are 25 years old and still working. UHMWPE bushes and wear pads can be swapped to tighten tolerances back up rather than forcing a full replacement, and the sandblasted two-pack finish holds up where crude paintwork rusts out.

Frequently asked questions

  • Yes. The Revolution Hort is our compact orchard post driver — a skid-steer machine built for orchard, vineyard and tight-access work, under low canopy and between rows.

  • Yes. It's a compact frame on a skid steer, built to work under low canopy and between rows. The mast lays forward to about 1,500 mm above the ground, and 120° of side tilt lets you stay plumb on uneven orchard floors.

  • A skid steer from 45 hp. The Hort comes with a skid steer plate as standard and mounts to skid steers only — there's no tractor option on this model.

  • Yes. The Xtenda mast lays forward to about 1,500 mm above the ground, so you can drive posts under low canopy and into tight clearances a full-height mast can't reach.

  • Yes. The Hort drives new posts and pulls broken ones using its telescopic mast in rows too narrow for the bigger machines to enter. Useful for replacement work through an established vineyard.

  • 2.7 m.

  • Yes. The Hort takes an Xtenda-specific auger kit. A rock spike kit can be fitted, though it isn't the typical setup for orchard customers.

A Note From The Creator.

“It’s a small post driver with a big heart, able to perform all duties from specialized hort replacement work to full scale fencing contracts. Revolutions well renown technology, balance, compactness combined with extension, anti-wear pads, paint finish and ease of usage are all in this unit – it is a reflection of our Revolution forethought and mandate of no compromises in operations. I was as excited as the contractors we recently demonstrated to in the Bay of Plenty as to its capabilities.” -
